The Froggy Pond
We have a bunch of really pretty biking trails within a stone's throw from our house. My husband has been exploring them with the boys while I'm at work.
Yesterday Kev showed me one of their newest discoveries that the twins labeled 'The Froggy Pond' due to the huge number of frogs that inhabit it. It was a pretty ride and the little pond was just adorable. There was a little gazebo on the western edge of the pond and, as promised, a million little frogs. The boys like to run up to the edge of the water and watch them hop in.
We meandered around the pond, looking for sticks and frogs. While doing so, Langdon was stepping off the path to collect sticks. He then went to reach for what he thought was a stick, only to find out it was a garter snake. Boy was that a surprise! He made a point of sticking to the path after that. :-)
As we neared the end of our trip around the pond, we saw a rather large turtle sunning him(or her)self. The boys had a great time, and I love watching them discover new and exciting things.
Here's a couple of pictures of the boys in the gazebo...
